Our Work: strategic planning
Developing a strategy for an organisation that is focused on social impact demands a clear understanding of:
-
The needs of the target group(s) that the organisation seeks to support
-
The broader environment in which the organisation operates
-
The internal capabilities, strengths and weaknesses of the organisation
Our work in terms of strategy formulation seeks to build this understanding through engagement with the target group(s), client staff and external stakeholders (customers, funders, investors, partners), as well as through secondary research.
(Evidence-based) strategic options are then developed using the social change model framework, ensuring that options are clearly linked back to well-articulated impacts that address target group needs. These options are presented to the organisation to enable it to work through its strategic choice making in a structured manner - this is often done through workshop-based formats with senior management and /or the Board.
